Introducing The Supper Club
The Supper Club was formed in 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. It is enjoyed by the locals and some regulars from as far away as York! It is a great opportunity to meet up with new people and friends for good conversation, good food and a few drinks!
The Supper Club is held in the Cricketers Bar from 6.30 to 8.30pm - call for future dates. The price is usually £14.50 per person and includes a glass of wine with a healthy sized main course. In some cases tables are shared to keep the atmosphere informal and to allow the regulars to catch up on the local news.
Each month the theme of the menu changes, but each time we like to carefully balance the meal and the wine. There is no membership fee, or club rules as such, but due to its popularity, reservations are recommended as early as possible as most evenings are a full house.
So if you would like to join the fun call reservations on 01653 628234 to reserve your table or seat. Come along and meet the locals!!
This month's menu offers a wonderful combination of flavours, all (with the exception of the Madras) with a Yorkshire heritage, fish from the coast, eggs from up the hill and cheese from Botton village near Danby. Lets call it 'The Alternative Tour de Yorkshire'!
Smoked haddock risotto, crispy bacon, Terrington egg, Summer Field cheese, parsley, Madras
Strawberry chocolate, strawberry 'bits and pieces'
La Liebre Y La Tortuga Albarino 2016
The menu gives us the perfect opportunity to bring out one my favourite wines for this time of year. Dry, crisp with green apple acidity it will cut through the smokiness like a knife through butter. The wine is made from 100% un-grafted Albarino vines grown in the region of Rias Baixas situated in the north west corner of Spain.
Main Course, savoury and a glass of selected wine, £18.50
